In february we already published our 7 questions for… with Andreas Jochimsen. Now we asked him something about his eSport career and the EuroNASCAR Esports Series.
He missed the prologue in Daytona because of technical issues. But started the ENES just in time for the first round in Brands Hatch. He got p7 in the qualification and made it to p3 in his heat race. The race went okay until he has a bigger stutter so he lost like 7-8 places and then he made his way up to P5 again but then he got a stop & go penalty for spinning another driver around so he ended p14 at Brands Hatch.
In the race last week in Watkins Glen he made a big mistake in the qualifying and has to start from p13. In his heat race he finished on a good 5th place and secured his space in the main race. Because at the start he nearly got caught up in a crash but survived it but then the gap to the 4 guys in front was just to Big.
In his main race it was pretty much the same story when he started P13 he went up to P5 after the start because Jochimsen was pretty lucky to come through a huge crash in T1 and 2 but again the gap to the front was to Big so it was all about just staying safe to the end of the race and then ended in a solid P5.
“The race in Watkins Glen was okay I Think after Lasse and myself only did 20 laps of practice before the race due to a busy schedule for me at least. ” told us Andreas Jochimsen.
Jochimsen and Lasse Sörensen will share the Chevrolet with the #66 in real. In iracing both have their own car. Jochimsen drives the car with #166. About his relationship with Sörensen he told us: “Me and Lasse has known each other for a really long time we have been driving as team mates also in the real life (Like we are this year) before and we have done a lot of sim racing together so me and Lasse always have a lot of fun when we drive together”
Hopefully we will see the two danish racers on a real track in the NASCAR Whele Euro Series.
His resumee about the ENES is, that top 10 is pretty strong, but it´s nothing new for him. He also races for Triple A esports series. That is also one of the reasons why he haven´t practiced so much lately for the ENES because he has to practice with Triple A for bigger events like BMW 120 which they are going to race on sunday 10’th of May which is pretty much the biggest scene of Iracing on the Road Racing site.
