Denny Hamlin erringt in Charlotte den ersten Coca-Cola 600-Sieg seiner Karriere und setzt sich in doppelter Verlängerung durch

Hamlin gewann das längste Rennen in der NASCAR-Geschichte – 619,5 Meilen – in zwei Verlängerungen und schlug Joe Gibbs Racing Teamkollege Kyle Busch bis zur Ziellinie um 0,014 Sekunden.

Mit dem Sieg – dem zweiten in dieser Saison und dem 48. seiner Karriere – hält Hamlin nun Trophäen in allen drei NASCAR-Kronjuwelenrennen: Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600 und Southern 500. Kevin Harvick ist der einzige andere Aktive Fahrer mit allen drei Titeln.
