PRESS RELEASE

Kris Richard is looking forward to his EuroNASCAR debut weekend

Marko Stipp Motorsport and Kris Richard have agreed to compete together in the EuroNASCAR 2 Championship of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series at the Autodromo di Vallelunga (Italy) shortly before the start of the upcoming season. The agreement will initially apply to the first two race weekends at Vallelunga and Zolder.

Richard, who will take over from Kenko Miura, who was prevented from entering the country, wants to make his first experience in EuroNASCAR and establish himself. The former WTCR driver and 2016 European Touring Car Cup champion wants to take one step at a time, in view of the first two race weekends:

“I would like to get into the series for myself and generally back into racing after the long time in which we were not allowed to race this year. In any case, I’m looking forward to the first weekend in Italy with great anticipation. In any case, the joy of driving is the most important thing for me. Of course I’m ambitioned enough to get the best possible result,” says the 25-year-old.

Team boss Marko Stipp is also happy to have recruited Kris Richard, a further driver with potential, shortly before the season opener: “It’s great that with Kris we were able to convince a fast driver of our qualities at such short notice. Even though he hardly has any EuroNASCAR experience so far, we believe that we can attack together with him at the front”.

The first race weekend of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2020 will take place on 12 and 13 September at the Autodromo di Vallelunga in Italy.
