Davide Dallara is one of  the drivers that participated in the Drivers Development Program of the NASCAR Whelen Euo Series. In 2020 he will start in the EuroNASCAR 2 with the new Team Not Only Motorsport. At the moment he is driving the #189 in the EuroNASCAR Esports Series.

After 3 rounds, Davide Dallara is on P13 in the overall standings of the ENES. In the first round at Brands Hatch he finished his heat on P12 and was forced to run in the Last Chance Qualifier in order to get a spot in the main race. With P5 he was able to gain one of the last places for the final run. The main race itself didn’t go too well for the young Italian. Due to the traffic on the short Indy track of Brands Hatch, the race was very chaotic and he only managed to finish on P30.

The second round at Watkins Glen was much better. With P20 in the qualifying, he was able to secure P7 for the starting grid for the heat race. His speed was good and with P5 he easily managed to directly qualify himself for the main race. Because of the crashes in the first to corners he found himself on P5 after the first lap of the main race. Unfortunately, his car had been damaged as well and during the race he wasn’t able to keep P5. In the end, he crossed the finish line on P9, his best result so far and his first top 10 result in the ENES.

The race at the Circuit Park Zandvoort was, compared to the other rounds, less chaotic. Dallara finished the qualifying on P17, which meant P6 in the starting grid of his heat. He was able to easily defend this position during the whole race. For the second time he was directly qualified for the main race. With starting position 17 he was just ahead of a crash at the start-finish-line. During the race he was able to gain some positions and in the end he was on P14. “I’m pretty happy about my race! 14th place on 60 drivers is a good result”, Dallara said in an interview with Threewide. “Obviously I would like to fight for the lead positions but the level is really INCREDIBLE, so I need to improve my sim skills, but I’m happy of what I’m doing in this virtual season!”

The world of iRacing is a new experience for the italian driver. “I used to play some games like Assetto corsa, but just for fun” Dallara said. “Only recently I started giving more time to this awesome and competitive world.”

When the regular season of the EuroNASCAR will start, Dallara will be driving the Toyota Camry with the #89 of the italian team Not Only Motorsport in the EuroNASCAR 2. A special challenge for Dallara, who only has experience with single-seaters. “First of all I have to get used to the car and the series, but also I think I can be competitive for the main positions from the start!”, the 27 year old Italian said. “Those are totally different worlds. That’s gonna be the main challenge for me. I need to change my way of driving to adapt to those cars. Formula is all about clean driving and aerodynamic grip. In NASCAR you need to get the best feeling with the mechanical grip.” In 2018 Dallara joined the G1 Series. Since 2019 he is woking together with Not Only Motorsport, as a driver in the G1 Series as well as an instructor.

After his successful participation in the Drivers Recruitment Program, the decision to start in the EuroNASCAR was easily made. “I think that the Nascar Whelen Euro Series is the best choice for a driver right now. They do a majestic work on visibility, and for a driver today that’s the most important thing to get” Dallara told Threewide. “Also the races seem to be really funny! That’s why I made this choice.”

The next round of the EuroNASCAR Esports Series will take place on June 2nd at the road course of the Indianapolis Motorspeedway.
